Please tell us about your current line of work and how you got started in it.
Since I retired from high school math and computer science teaching (2009), I've been a writer of mysteries and thrillers. I published my debut novel, A Reluctant Spy, in March of this year, and it just won The NYC Big Book Award in the category of Suspense. The sequel of A Reluctant Spy, The Fourth Woman, will be published in the next couple of months.
Do you have any mentors or sources of inspiration?
All the wonderful books I read over the years. Dorothy Sayers, Tana French, P.D. James all come to mind.
What parts of your work do you enjoy most? Why?
I love the actual writing, but also all the peripheral activities. I love writing blogs (https://roselynteukolsky.com/blog). Some of the things that we writers endure are so crazy that one has to laugh. I LOVE going to book clubs in which my book is discussed. I enjoy socializing with other writers. It all brings me joy.
What are your favorite things to do when you have free time?
Play tournament bridge. Read good books. Watch a great mystery or thriller series.
Are there any dream projects you'd like to pursue?
Find a movie or TV producer for my novels. (It's embarrassing, but you asked.)
