Meet Jose F Nodar

We're honored to be speaking with author Jose F Nodar. His latest book is Love in Stereo. Please tell us about your current line of work and how you got started in it.

After working as a bank consultant travelling the world I retired in Australia and like many had a great time socializing with other retirees at different functions. In one said function during a conversation someone suggested I join a writer's group. I never done any creative writing (well since school days anyway) so I gave it a go, and then little did I think that I enjoyed it. It turned out many of the stories were funny and people enjoyed them, so one thing led to another, and the rest, like the saying goes, is history.

Do you have any mentors or sources of inspiration?

As many other authors/writers, I have several folks I really enjoy reading. Mostly authors like Ms Lynn Slaughter, Ms M. Garnet, Ernest Hemingway, Clive Cussler, Myron Ferdig to mention a few, and they of course give me some inspiration, but mostly I enjoy speaking with people, complete strangers, and getting their reactions. Another pastime, if I may call it that, is watching people in the shopping centres around Australia. Their interactions among themselves and with others, and many, many times, I get ideas for short stories.

What parts of your work do you enjoy most? Why?

I enjoy exploring different genres in my writing. I dabble in a bit of mystery (though it's more of a light touch), romance (I must admit, I'm a bit of a softy), and humour.

As we journey through life, everything that influences us is around us, often without realising it. Humour, sadness, and love all seep into our experiences and naturally find their way into my novels, short stories and poems. These emotions blend, adding depth and richness to my work.

What are your favorite things to do when you have free time?

My best influence on ideas and inspiration continues to be my wife, Miriam. She passed away in 2025 but continues to give me inspiration during my morning walks. I should complete a book of stories from our life together, titled ‘Whispers From My Wife’, which will be out in June 2026.

It has poignant moments, but many humorous snippets, which I hope readers will enjoy. Writing this book was an act of love with many tears pouring into the pages because she is and will always be the most important part of my life.

Can you tell us about your latest book and any upcoming projects?

Actually, I am excited to announce a one-two punch in May 2026. I am releasing the Spanish version of ‘A Night of Love’ or ‘Una Noche de Amor’ and a new novel titled ‘The Northport Reading Circle’.

There are a few ways. First, anyone can join my monthly newsletter, in which I share what I am doing on a personal level and in my writing. To make a fun newsletter, I usually include a short story, a poem, or the first chapter of one of my books.
