Please tell us about your current line of work and how you got started in it. Please include any awards or upcoming projects.
I am an actor based in NYC. When I was a kid, theatre was my little outlet to come out of my shell, and I decided that was what I wanted to do with my life! So I went to school at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy. Afterwards, I got an apartment with some friends from school and began auditioning (and waiting tables). It took me two years of auditioning to get my first job! Those two years were pretty rough. There's two main things that kept me committed: 1. My amazing family and friends who gave unending support; and 2. The classes I took in the meantime that gave me a connection to what I was working towards. In February of last year, I finally booked my first job! It was Fancy Nancy the Musical off-Broadway, and that experience made those two years worth it! Last Fall, that same company invited me back for the tour and off-Broadway run of Pinkalicious the Musical. I’ve been performing in that since August 2024 and look forward to whatever my next project may be!
Do you have any mentors or sources of inspiration?
My mentors have been invaluable! My voice teacher, Caítlín Burke, and my acting coach, Chris Chirdon, are both incredible! They have guided me through auditions and given me immense support through this whole process. Caítlín especially has been with me since college and supported me through so much both personally and professionally! I could not be where I am without their knowledge of the industry and the craft.
I am also always inspired whenever I'm able to see a show. I absolutely love watching the culmination of others' hard work!
What parts of your work do you enjoy most? Why?
The high from performing is truly incredible. Auditions can be so hard, but once you're in a production, it feels like you're in a whole new world! I absolutely love that.
What are your favorite things to do when you have free time?
Oh, I have so many things I love to do! I’ve found it’s so important to find things to enjoy when working so hard in a difficult industry. When I need to destress, I'll either bake something or take a nice hot bath. When I'm feeling homesick, I'll find a new restaurant to try so that I feel grateful to be in the city that I'm in. When I need friends, I love having a game night!
Are there any dream projects you'd like to pursue?
My current dream roles are Dawn in Waitress or Janice in Come From Away. Once I'm older, I'd absolutely love to play Heidi in Dear Evan Hansen.
